Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the company's sales strategy to acquire new clients and expand market share in the retail and eCommerce sector. Identify and pursue opportunities for partnerships, collaborations, and business alliances that align with the company's goals.
- Drive the acquisition of new clients by identifying prospects, conducting outreach, and nurturing relationships with key decision-makers in target organizations. Develop tailored sales pitches, presentations, and proposals to showcase the value proposition of client's platform and solutions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for existing clients, fostering strong relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction. Proactively engage with clients to understand their evolving needs, address concerns, and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional products or services.
- Manage the sales pipeline and lead generation activities to achieve revenue targets and sales objectives. Utilize CRM tools and sales analytics to track progress, forecast sales projections, and prioritize opportunities for maximum impact.
- Develop a deep understanding of client's platform, features, and capabilities. Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor offerings to effectively position client's solutions and differentiate them in the marketplace.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, customer success, and technical support, to align sales efforts with broader company objectives. Provide feedback from clients and prospects to inform product enhancements, marketing initiatives, and go-to-market strategies.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive threats. Use insights from market research to refine sales strategies, target customer segments effectively, and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
- Establish yourself as a thought leader and subject matter expert in the retail and eCommerce industry. Contribute to industry forums, conferences, and thought leadership initiatives to raise awareness of client's brand and solutions.
- Stay abreast of developments in sales techniques, best practices, and industry trends. Continuously seek opportunities for professional growth and skill development to enhance your effectiveness as a sales leader and contribute to the success.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior sales professionals as the team grows. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance within the sales organization.
Minimum Qualifications
- A proven track record of success in sales, preferably in the retail or eCommerce industry. Previous experience in B2B sales, enterprise sales, or SaaS sales would be advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a startup environment and willingness to take on challenges, adapt quickly to change, and contribute to the growth of a new company.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities, develop sales strategies, and execute plans to achieve business objectives.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively. Experience presenting to and engaging with clients at all levels of an organization.
- A customer-centric mindset and a commitment to understanding clients' needs, building long-term relationships, and delivering exceptional service.
- Goal-oriented and results-driven, with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets and performance metrics.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team environment, supporting colleagues, sharing insights, and contributing to the success of the team and the company as a whole.
- Familiarity with technology platforms, software solutions, and industry trends in retail, eCommerce, and digital commerce. Basic understanding of the principles of reactive design, microservices, and relevant technologies mentioned earlier would be beneficial.
- Flexibility and adaptability to navigate ambiguity, embrace change, and thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced startup environment.
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, sales, or a related field would be preferred. Relevant work experience and demonstrated skills may be considered in lieu of formal education.
