Key Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and pursue opportunities within government agencies and public sector organizations.
- Build, maintain, and grow long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders across assigned public sector accounts.
- Understand customer needs and align solutions (products, services, or platforms) to address their operational, technical, and compliance requirements.
- Manage a defined territory of public sector accounts, maintain a healthy sales pipeline, and accurately forecast revenue.
- Prepare proposals, RFP responses, and negotiate contracts in compliance with public procurement regulations and company policies.
- Partner with pre-sales, customer success, product, and legal teams to deliver tailored solutions and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Navigate complex procurement processes, government standards, and compliance frameworks unique to the public sector.
- Consistently achieve or exceed sales targets by driving revenue growth across assigned enterprise-level public sector accounts.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, representing their needs internally and ensuring a high standard of service delivery.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, government policies, competitor offerings, and emerging opportunities in the public sector landscape.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Public Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven track record (typically 5+ years) of success in enterprise sales, preferably with experience in public sector accounts.
- Strong knowledge of government procurement processes, compliance requirements, and contract vehicles.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders and long decision-making timelines.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior executives and government officials.
- Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and strong pipeline management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently meet or exceed sales quotas.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with the ability to navigate legal and procurement frameworks.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with technical, legal, operations, and customer success teams.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with public sector clients and attend industry events.
