Key Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify new opportunities within mid-market public sector accounts, including local government agencies, municipalities, and public institutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers, procurement officers, and end users across assigned accounts.
- Understand customer challenges and align company solutions to their needs, focusing on improving efficiency, compliance, and outcomes.
- Manage the full sales process from prospecting to closing, including presentations, demos, proposals, and contract negotiations.
- Develop and execute account plans to grow revenue and expand footprint within assigned mid-market territory.
- Partner with internal teams (solutions engineers, product specialists, legal, and customer success) to deliver tailored solutions and ensure client satisfaction.
- Navigate government procurement processes and ensure adherence to applicable policies, regulations, and contract requirements.
- Consistently achieve or exceed sales targets and performance metrics by driving growth across assigned accounts.
- Act as a trusted advisor, representing customer feedback and influencing product and service improvements.
- Stay updated on public sector trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Public Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years of sales experience, with at least 2 years focused on public sector or mid-market accounts.
- Proven success in meeting or exceeding quotas, particularly in SaaS, technology, or solutions-based sales.
- Understanding of public sector procurement processes and contracting requirements at the local and regional levels.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers and diverse stakeholders.
- Experience managing full sales cycles — from prospecting and lead generation through negotiation and closing.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and pipeline management tools.
- Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills, with the ability to navigate complex deals.
- Collaborative mindset, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams (legal, product, solutions engineers, etc.).
- Flexibility to travel as needed to meet clients, attend industry events, or support key deals.
