Required Qualifications:
- In Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field. MBA or equivalent is a plus.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in sales or sales development, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or leadership role. Experience in the relevant industry or sector, with a strong understanding of industry-specific challenges and opportunities. Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets and managing high-performing sales teams.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a sales team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and negotiate effectively. Ability to develop and implement effective sales development strategies that align with business goals.
- Highly self-motivated and able to work independently, with minimal supervision. Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying updated with industry trends and best practices. Relevant sales or industry certifications are a plus.
- Proficiency in using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) to manage sales processes and track performance. Familiarity with sales development tools and techniques, such as lead generation, cold calling, and email campaigns. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to understand and address the needs and concerns of team members and clients. Strong negotiation skills to close deals and manage client relationships.
- Ability to resolve conflicts and handle challenging situations with professionalism.
In This Role, You Will:
- Provide strong leadership to the sales development team, setting clear goals, and expectations, and fostering a positive and motivating work environment. Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing regular feedback, coaching, and support to ensure high levels of productivity and engagement.
- Develop and execute effective sales development strategies to generate qualified leads and drive pipeline growth. Set ambitious yet achievable targets for the sales development team and develop plans to meet or exceed these goals.
- Continuously review and optimize sales development processes and workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Work closely with marketing, sales, and product teams to align sales development efforts with broader company goals and initiatives.
- Oversee the development and execution of lead generation campaigns, ensuring a steady flow of high-quality leads. Implement and refine lead qualification criteria to ensure that leads passed to the sales team are highly qualified and likely to convert.
- Monitor key performance metrics and KPIs to track the success of sales development activities and identify areas for improvement.
- Identify training needs and opportunities for the sales development team and provide or arrange for relevant training and development programs. Develop and implement effective onboarding programs for new team members to ensure they are quickly integrated and productive.
- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure a smooth handoff of qualified leads and support the sales process as needed. Occasionally engage with key prospects and clients to understand their needs and support the sales process.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to inform sales strategies and tactics. Continuously seek out and implement sales development best practices to enhance team performance and results.
- Encourage and support a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the sales development team. Regularly solicit feedback from team members and stakeholders and make necessary adjustments to strategies and processes.
In this role, you will be instrumental in driving the growth and success of the sales development function, ensuring that the team operates at a high level of efficiency and effectiveness, and contributing significantly to the overall success of the company.
